Te Awa Regional Council works alongside communities, mana whenua, businesses and partner organisations to protect the environment, support sustainable development and provide services that improve the wellbeing of our region.
Our region is home to diverse landscapes, productive rural communities, vibrant towns and significant natural environments. Through responsible management of resources, environmental monitoring and community partnerships, we help ensure our region remains a great place to live, work and visit.
We are responsible for a range of regional services including freshwater management, biodiversity protection, biosecurity, resource consenting, regional transport planning, emergency management and environmental monitoring.
